Our Story
True coffee aficionados have been known to go to extraordinary lengths for a great cup of coffee. In Verrado, coffee has even inspired two childhood best friends to move cross-country, where they introduced their first Ebb + Flow Coffee Company on Main Street, Saturday, October 7.
Karlie Bakke and Liz Schwartz’ new-to-market coffee concept came about when Liz’ father, a longtime winter resident of Verrado, stumbled upon the perfect shop location on Main Street. The pull and opportunity was so strong that Karlie moved from South Dakota, and Liz relocated to Verrado from Denver, to fulfill a dream they’d both harbored for years.
While ebb and flow can be defined as “a recurrent or rhythmical pattern of coming and going”, Ebb + Flow’s culture is centered on community, customer service and quality.
“Liz and I value and celebrate our new neighbors in Verrado, and strive to contribute to this wonderful community in a professional and positive way,” Karlie said. “Our customers are the underlying motivation for everything we do.”
Keeping it healthy and local, the Ebb + Flow team has partnered with Cult Coffee Roasters of Phoenix to provide the highest-grade, environmentally conscious ingredients for every cup of java. Beyond a freshly brewed coffee, Ebb + Flow’s artisan offerings include lattes, nitro cold brew and specialty teas. “Guests can enjoy a variety of roasts with a flight of delicious nitro cold brews made with our state-of-the-art Kegerator,” Liz added.
For irresistible accompaniments to the beverage menu, Ebb + Flow has partnered with Peddler’s Son, a produce supplier that curates the freshest fruit from local farms for smoothies and popular acai bowls, brimming with antioxidants. Even muffins, scones, cinnamon rolls and pop tarts are baked fresh locally with gluten-free and vegan options.
This new community gathering spot was designed with lingering in mind. Industrial touches with rustic wood finishes and splashes of color create a comfortable setting to connect and refresh. “Liz and I are excited to become part of the local vibe on Main Street. We welcome everyone to stop by to experience Ebb + Flow!” Karlie said.
