No one could have predicted the curveballs local restaurateurs, including Verrado residents Stephen and Karen Maynard would face in 2020. As proprietors of Tempo Urban Bistro, a hyperlocal contemporary eatery on Main Street, they have stepped up during challenging times by creating a hybrid menu, limiting in-house dining accommodations, providing take-out options for everything on the menu, and irresistible happy hour specials.

“Karen and I are beyond grateful for our loyal following in the Verrado community and their support,” Chef Steven said. “In turn, we have listened to our guests, and are featuring menus with approachable, comfort food for dining inside, on the patio or take-out.”

One trend that’s increased in popularity is take-out. Chef Maynard recommends you go for the entire experience. “Maximize your dining experience at home by making it more special with appetizers, entrées, and dessert. We can even include a bottle of wine to go,” he added.

Saturday Nights are the new Date Night after 5 p.m. with mouth-watering Prime Rib for two, a large Caesar salad, baked potatoes, vegetables, dessert and a half bottle of wine for $69, dine in or take out. Call early, as quantities are limited.

Get happy by indulging in Tempo Urban Bistro’s popular Happy Hour specials from 4-7 p.m. Enjoy on site or in the comfort of your own home with over-the-phone payment and no-contact pick-up. Monday through Friday, you can choose a 2 piece bruschetta, margarita flatbread, short rib sliders, buffalo wings or poutine fries for $6 each. Pair them with $5 well drinks or house wine and a selection of $4 draft beer.

Margarita Mondays: 16 oz. margarita with fresh margarita flatbread, $12.

Burger and Beer Tuesdays: Loaded 1/3 lb. Angus burger and a draft beer, $10

Bottle and a Board Wednesdays: Bottle of house cabernet or chardonnay and bruschetta board, $22

Sangria Sundays: sangria, mimosas, or Bloody Mary’s all day long, $5

The Maynards continue to present the highly-acclaimed dining experience that brought Tempo Urban Bistro two “Best Chef” awards by ‘Phoenix New Times’ readers in the past two years. They also look forward to the day when they can bring the community together for more unforgettable events including the Wine Dinner series, Chef’s Tasting Table, Trivia Nights and beyond.
