Our Story

When you walk through the doors of Empower Physical Therapy’s newest clinic, you’ll be greeted by practitioners who also call Verrado home. A seasoned physical therapist with over 25 years of experience, Mitas Medrano is a familiar face who will lead Main Street’s new location, as she has lived and raised her family in Verrado for over 14 years.

“We truly feel fortunate to serve the families we reside with every day, from infants to grandparents, “Medrano said. “What’s important is wellness in the long term. We don’t just treat injury or disease. First, we address each patient’s lifestyle, and what matters most to them. Then we develop priorities for posture, injury prevention, and body mechanics.”

Medrano’s passion for physical therapy extends to effective treatment of low back pain, a common ailment that is often the most difficult to understand. As a result, she consistently ranks 60% higher in effectiveness than the national average in Focus on Therapeutic Outcomes (FOTO), a federal mandate that evaluates outpatient clinics relative to clinical expertise.

According to Will Humphreys, vice president of marketing and talent acquisition, “We moved our world to establish Main Street as Empower Physical Therapy’s first growth location. The charm and neighborly spirit of the Verrado community aligns with our goals to provide expert locally-run care, with all the benefits of a large corporate structure. Our newest clinic on Main Street has a vested interest in helping our friends and neighbors heal.”
